Title VI

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) is the federal law that prohibits discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.

Another important facet of Title VI involves providing meaningful access to programs and services for individuals that are considered to have Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Southwest does not discriminate in our programs and/or services based on an individual’s ability to communicate in English. To ensure that all individuals are able to communicate, either in writing or verbally, the College utilizes Linguistica International to provide translation services on an as needed basis. For more information about this service, contact our office at 901-333-5005. You may also access the Language Identification Card.
