City of Memphis announced earlier today that due to expected severe weather for Memphis and the Mid-South, all COVID-19 vaccination appointments are cancelled for Wednesday, March 17. Vaccination sites, including the site at Southwest Tennessee Community College’s Whitehaven Center, will be closed for the entire day.

On Tuesday, March 16, the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert for strong thunderstorms Wednesday with a threat for large hail, tornadoes and flooding developing Wednesday afternoon into the evening.

Southwest Tennessee Community College faculty, staff and students are on standby notice via internal communications should the severe weather impact campus operations and necessitate closure of all locations.
