Mid-South Therapy Dogs and Friends are returning to the Bert Bornblum Library lobby on the Macon Cove Campus to provide a Stress-Free Zone, noon–1:30 p.m., April 22.

Mid-South Therapy Dogs and Friends is a nonprofit organization devoted to providing all people, young and old, the opportunity to experience the magic of the human-animal bond.

Public Services Librarian Gloria Hayden says the purpose of the event is to help students relax as finals approach. Studies show that interacting with animals can lower stress levels.

Hayden says students truly enjoyed last year’s event. “You might even say it was the paw-fect relaxation to preparing for the tail end of the academic year,” she said.

Mid-South Therapy Dogs and Friends dogs are trained, certified and accustomed to being touched and handled by the public. All students need to do is show up, pet a furry friend and relax!
