KUDOS: Dr. Melanie Jones is first community relations ambassador to make presentation

Special thanks to community relations ambassador and computer laboratory technician in the Information Technology Services Division Dr. Melanie Jones for presenting great information about Tennessee Promise and Reconnect, Career in a Year and other Southwest programs and benefits to her fellow congregants at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

Dr. Jones participated in the church’s annual Spring Festival where she passed out College literature to festival-goers and shared important information on how to enroll at Southwest.  She finished the day with a list of 39 prospective students.  She also brought two high school counselors to the event who spoke to 15 prospective students about Southwest Early College High School, a seamless way for high school graduates to transfer to Southwest.  Way to go, Dr. Jones!

We have posted Dr. Jones community outreach on Southwest’s Facebook and Twitter and look forward to many more postings representing the appearances of our ambassadors throughout the city.  We ask that ambassadors continue to take a photo of their outreach (presentation, booth at event, drop-off of materials) and include a short description to post on their social media with the official ambassadors hashtag, #SWStoryteller.
