Taste of Aviation – Eleanor Williams and Janae Williams Memorial Scholarship
Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.
A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.
Taste of Aviation – Eleanor Williams and Janae Williams Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a Southwest Tennessee Community College student majoring in Aviation Operations Technology. A $1,000 scholarship per academic year ($500 per semester) is available to eligible candidates.
Criteria
- In an effort to increase diversity in this field, preference will be given to Black students.
- Full or part-time students are eligible to apply for the award.
- Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive an award for the second semester.
Procedure
Contact the Foundation Office to let them know of our interest in the scholarship. They will email you a scholarship application. You must submit the application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by August 31. For questions, please contact Cassandra Carthon at ccarthon@southwest.tn.edu.
Selection Process
Southwest Tennessee Community College Foundation Committee selects the award finalist and provides Taste of Aviation with the recipient’s information before announcements are made. The award recipient must agree to provide a picture of oneself and short bio to Taste of Aviation.
