Bessie Lee Neal Memorial Scholarship

Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.

A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.

Bessie Lee Neal Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship is available for tuition and books for the academic year.  Students enrolled full or part-time are eligible to apply.  Scholarship is renewable for the second academic year, provided scholarship criteria are maintained.

1. Must be a Economics, Finance or Business Major—economics preferred.
2. Must be a full or part-time degree seeking student.
3. Scholarship is renewable, provided 2.5 GPA is maintained
4. Financial Aid recipients are acceptable.
5. Preference goes to Emerging Scholars.
6. Preference goes to Cancer Survivors.

Procedure

Submit the application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid by March 15.

Selection Process

Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee will narrow the field of applicants to five, whose applications are forwarded to the Bessie Lee Neal Memorial Scholarship Committee for final selection.
