Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship
Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.
A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship
One scholarship is available for tuition for one semester.
Criteria
- Documented community service
- Must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled full-time
- Renewal based on the recipient's documented community service each semester
- Applicant must have received a high school diploma or a GED to be eligible.
Procedure
Submit application (opens new window) to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.
Selection Process
Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee narrows field of applicants to three, whose applications are forwarded to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Committee.
