Estelle Johnson and Archie Landey Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.

A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.

Estelle Johnson and Archie Landey Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship or Scholarships is/are available for full tuition/fees for the academic year for non-traditional students.  Students enrolled full or part-time are eligible to apply.  Scholarship(s) is/are renewable for the second academic year, provided scholarship criteria are maintained.

Criteria

  1. Must be a full or part-time degree seeking non-traditional student with a minimum 2.8 GPA . 
  2. Cumulative GPA of 2.8 for award and to maintain award in first academic year.
  3. Award may be renewed for a second academic year if recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA. 
  4. Any degree program. 
  5. Strong desire to succeed.
  6. Students should not be receiving any other financial aid or scholarships.  Work study or VA stipends are allowable.
  7. Student may be a returning student or entering freshman.

Procedure

Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid by March 15.

Selection Process

Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee will narrow the field of applicants to three, whose applications are forwarded to the Estelle Johnson and Archie Landey Memorial Endowed Scholarship Selection Committee for final selection.
