Margie Hobbs Memorial Book Scholarship
Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.
A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.
Margie Hobbs Memorial Book Scholarship
Book scholarships are available to assist students with the purchase of math access codes.
Criteria
- Full-time or part-time degree-seeking student; priority will be given to those who are within 24 hours of completion of a degree or certificate program.
- Any degree program
- Financial aid recipients are acceptable; however, financial aid recipients must not receive more than $300 back in grant refunds.
- New or returning student
- Must have GPA of 2.5 at Southwest or at another college or high school
- Must never have been on academic probation or suspension
- Applicant must have received a high school diploma or a GED to be eligible.
Procedure
Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.
Selection Process
Students must be recommended by an instructor or advisor. Recommendation is forwarded to Institutional Development for approval.
