Nathaniel Parker Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.

A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.

Nathaniel Parker Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Subject to availability of funds, a scholarship will be in the form of tuition, books and/or supplies through a full scholarship for one (1) academic year. The scholarship may be renewed for a second academic year.

Criteria

  1. Entering Freshmen or Returning Adult Students may apply
  2. May be enrolled full-time or part-time
  3. Preference goes to those students who have no more than 24 semester hours to complete their academic degree.
  4. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 for award and to maintain award in first academic year
  5. Award may be renewed for a second academic year if recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA
  6. Any degree program
  7. Strong desire to succeed.
  8. Completed essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship
  9. Applicant must have received a high school diploma or a GED to be eligible.

Procedure

Submit application (opens new window) to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.
