TSU offers full scholarship for transfer students

You’ve worked hard, successfully completed your associate’s degree at Southwest, and are ready to further your education.

For Southwest students interested in obtaining a 4-year degree, Tennessee State University (TSU) offers the Community College Graduate Scholarship to students who obtained an associate degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25.

The full scholarship pays tuition and fees, including housing and meal plan, for four consecutive semesters or two consecutive academic years at TSU. Summer and mini-sessions are not covered. A maximum of 10 scholarships are available each academic year. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) majors receive priority consideration.

Southwest students must apply before attending TSU by filling out the application completely and submitting it prior to the deadline of April 1 for the fall semester and Nov. 1 for the spring. The scholarship committee will accept a preliminary transcript to determine eligibility. However, the official transcript verifying eligibility and graduation must be received by the University before funds will be disbursed.

Eligible Southwest students must have a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) or better and have graduated within the past 12 months prior to enrollment at TSU.

Once admitted to TSU, scholarship recipients must maintain an enrollment of 15 credit hours or more and a 3.0 GPA or better each semester the scholarship is awarded.
