U.S. Census deadline extended to October 31 due to COVID-19

2020 Census

Have you completed the 2020 U.S. Census? If not, there is still time. Due to COVID-19, the U.S. Census Bureau has extended the deadline to October 31, 2020.

It is important that everyone completes the census. According to the census bureau, the census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products and support for their communities. Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads and other resources based on census data.

Every person living in the United States and five U.S. territories is counted in the census. In fact, participating in the census is required by law.

The census form is easy to fill out and strictly confidential. It asks a few simple questions about yourself and everyone who was living with you on April 1, 2020. There are no questions about citizenship.

For the first time, census forms can be submitted online, by phone or through the mail. To learn more about how to submit the 2020 census form, visit https://2020census.gov/.
