Investing in Your Future

Getting a college education is a big financial commitment. But it might cost less than you think.

Our financial aid counselors can help you find ways to pay for college and apply for aid. Many types of financial aid are offered, including federal, state and private. Federal financial aid can only be used for courses taken in your chosen program of study. Learn more about the Course Program of Study (CPoS) requirement.

Steps in the Aid Process

  • Apply

Apply for admission and be admitted as a degree-seeking Southwest student.

  • Complete

Complete the FAFSA online. The Southwest FAFSA School Code is 010439. Be sure to meet the financial aid deadlines.

  • Submit

Submit requested financial aid documents to Southwest at Financial Aid Documentation Upload Page. The Financial Aid Office will inform you if these documents are required.

  • Award

You will receive an award notification after all documents are complete.

  • Disbursement

Federal aid and scholarships will be disbursed and applied to your student account to cover tuition and fees.

At any time during the financial aid process, feel free to call the Financial Aid Office and speak to a counselor.

You can also set up a virtual appointment to chat with a counselor through an online Microsoft Teams video meeting, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. at Virtual Financial Aid Assistance.
