Faculty Services

We will prepare the library portion of the self-study and conduct the library visit.

Southwest faculty receive 120-day checkout for books. Present your college ID at the Public Service desk for assistance.

We maintain a subscription to view the current and archival issues.

Place textbooks in the library for 2-hour use at the beginning of the semester. Present the completed Reserve form along with the items for processing. Feel free to pick up items at the end of the semester or extend their shelf time.

We maintain over 200 titles in different disciplines to support your research needs. Access is available on-site and remotely. Browse our Databases page for titles, recommended websites and multimedia items. A printable A-Z copy is available also.

Requested items will be transported between the InfoNet Libraries to fill requests

A free service offered to faculty, staff and students; charges may apply from the lending agency. There is a limit of five (5) requests per week; forms are processed in the order received. Please allow 2-4 weeks for a reply. Choose the type of request that is needed:

Inter-Library Loan request

Search by Title or Subject for availability via database subscriptions.

Instruction sessions are provided upon receipt of a Request for Library Instruction.

Sessions may be provided in a traditional setting (computer lab or classroom) or
Webinar (live instruction online). Faculty are requested to provide feedback on the usefulness of the service at the end of the semester.

Librarians will serve as liaisons for academic departments to establish collegiate relationships to enhance communication and improve resources and services for these programs. Locate your liaison below:

Help us to build and maintain your subject collections by recommending items for purchase. Submit the Material Request for consideration. Purchases are honored within budget constraints.

Contact your liaison to locate resources to build a new course or assistance with a grant proposal

Two Librarians are embedded in each course to answer questions from students and provide assistance to the instructors. Look for Ask a Librarian on the classlist.

A proxy prefix is required to allow remote access to students. Contact us for instructions to add library content to online courses.

A Quick Search produces a brief outline of library resources. The information provides suggested subject headings, call numbers to browse the shelves, information available in electronic books (ebooks) and databases, streaming videos, criteria for evaluating websites, Internet searches and citation tools.

College credentials are required for remote access.
